Top 10 cars at the Rudy Klein 'Junkyard' Auction

Proof that one man’s junk really is another’s treasure.

Lot# 303; A 1968 Lamborghini Miura.

Not every junkyard is equal…

The proof of that statement became obvious during last Saturday’s Rudy Klein ‘Junkyard’ auction. RM Sotheby hosted the event, which set records for non-running examples of Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Lamborghini cars. Combined with top dollar figures for hard-to-find vintage European parts, the auction will be as legendary as the junkyard.

These results tend to confirm that the Barn-Find esthetic is here to stay in automotive culture. Car lovers had better think twice before sanding all that age and character (previously known as abuse and grime) off their automobiles. The as-found look has been popular for the last decade, but it only appears to be growing in demand.

Do we have Rat-Rodders to thank for this?
